Frank's Vinyl Museum is an invaluable resource for those of use who think that there's a thin line between trash and treasure. It's also a great place to indulge your taste in guilty musical pleasures without having to actually buy any of these crappy records at your local thrift store.

Heh, I actually own a bunch of those. What can I say? The thrift store near where I used to live in the Boston area was selling their records for 10 cents apiece (this was only about 5 years ago). Truly an invitation to buy horrendous records if there ever was one...

Actually, I own several myself. And I should point out that I don't think that all of these records are crap by any means. Herb Alpert's Whipped Cream is a classic...both the cover art and the music inside.

Wow, I was almost certain this would have been posted before. I've been aware of this site for some time, good stuff. Another great place to visit is Irwin Chusid's Incorrect Music site.

Chusid's site is indeed swell and you can find a plethora of links to other sources of outsider music at the Cool and Strange Music magazine website.

Two words: excellent link.

Two more words: Bill Cosby.

It seems Syd Barrett is condered "outsider music" (at least according to many Amazon customers) Well then what about Kool Keith? Or even early Eno or Ween?

Cool! A great place to have a taste of the weirdest atrocities ever commited to wax with none of the guilt of spending a buck at the thirft store. Well, that's the kind of things that tickle my curiosity.

KANU's Retro Cocktail Hour website has another cover gallery of Exotica titles as well, if you're into that thing.
