Everyone seems to be redesigning....and now I've gone and done it too.

That's right folks, Just like everyone else I've gone and redesigned my homepage. Any and all comments are appreciated, especially those on Mac systems as I have no way of testing on that platform. And hey, if you were feeling kind, you could generate me some traffic ;-)

Ok, it isn't orange, I will give you that. However, I would suggest you take a look at what happens when it is viewed 800x600.

I "redesigned" your post. We set our own fonts here at MetaFilter, no need to use font tags. I like the new look, but the dhtml thing is annoying when you're trying to read something and the bottom scrollbar is going nuts...

I had to set the scrollbars to go at some point, and decided to set them to 800. If I optomise for it, then the arrows stop halfway across the screen. Thanks for the tip on font tags....I should have known, but it's late here!

Why don't you grab the size of the window when the page loads and set your divs only as wide as you need? So the Scrollbars don't need to scroll so much. But I can't figure out why the vertical scrollbars need to move at all...

Another thing to consider is scrapping the animation altogether. It is distracting. My rule: If I didn't come to the page looking for animation, I don't want to see animation. It's a bendable rule.

tom, if youre going to do 800, i suggest opting for 760. and matt, whats up wtih all the 404's on your site.

Mac report: The page doesn't scroll all the way to the bottom at 800x600 on Navigator 4.08. (Upgrade? Sorry, I don't gather your meaning.) I can't see the bottom of that box in the bottom right hand corner at all. It seems to be a consistent problem on all the pages. Otherwise, save for the animation (which causes blindness and hairy palms in website programmers, I've heard) it seems to work.

I saw this reprinted in the paper, and it reminded me of youze guys but I didn't want make a full-fledged entry out of it, so here it is where nobody will see it. "This spring, however, designers and retailers have conspired to make orange a 'must-have' fashion color." Note too that they try to use font tags in the html title field.
