Switcheroo Zoo (Flash required) is a virtual zoo that allows you to combine parts of different animals to make your own funky creatures. Check out other people's creations at the Hall of Names.
When I was little, I had a book, with pages divided horizontally into three parts which let you combine animals. Sound familiar to anyone?

Yeah, I had that book but it was with monsters. Needless to say this link stirred up a lot of bad memories and I'm going to sleep with the lights on tonight.

This is fascinating but, uh, some of the ?morphs? creep me out, like the one where the excess shatters off the critter's legs like broken glass...?
