XP demonstrates "Intelligent design." You mean they didn't evolve it with genetic algorithms? Boy, I could swear the past versions were composed of randomly generated code fragments. (Do read the original article.)

The lamest attempt at intelligence by design I've seen so far. Its barely a quote, not much to discuss unless you want to fire the hackneyed creationism debate again.

Before computers were the cool analogy to use people like Chuck used to say something along the lines of an explosion at a book factory producing a dictionary to criticise the big bang.

Personally, I don't find the big bang and other origin theories to be pretty convincing. They're relatively young and have big enough gaps be keep a healthy sense of skepticism about them, but that's no reason to rely on faulty logic and pandering to religion, especially the monotheism you happen to consider the ultimate truth.

WOW.

This has got to be one of the most ham-handed attempts to discredit evolution I've ever read. Not only does Colson show, as one might expect, little understanding of big bang theory, his comparison misrepresents Intelligent Design theory as well.

Someone from the Discovery Institute: quick, call Colson and tell him to shaddup!

That whole article sounds like he got drunk and went to Fry's. As solistrato said: WOW.

If Chuck Colson is really comparing human DNA to windows XP, then I'm finally feeling justified in believing that he's from another (buggier and spyware installing) planet.

Find me the missing 17 minutes in your God-given genetic code, and then we'll talk...

Ar ar ar. The nexus of Windows XP, Scopes/Monkey debates, and Watergate. Too cool and surreal.

Intelligent design. Windows XP. Ha ha ha ha. Bill Gates is God. "I'm sorry, but you've recently replaced your kidney and had some plastic surgery. I don't recognize you any more." Hee hee.

OK. Seriously, the "Intelligent Design" people are the same ones who -- until, like, five minutes ago -- insisted that Creationism be taught as "science." Let. It. Go.

Richard Dawkins - The Blind Watchmaker. Very good, readable, and prescient debunking of the design argument.

Best argument against the design argument: "Well, then who designed the designer?"

Of course, that's on the list of unaskable questions (for the creationists). Interesting that they'll let the god enjoy all kinds of properties that they deny of the world/universe.
