Mastaba Snoopy

An Unknown Alien Being acquires a child's forgotten book and mistakenly believes that it depicts proper protocol for interaction with the human world.
The book is a collection of Peanuts comics.
Woodsnoopy 45 stares into your open heart. Her yellow head squirms and pukes up feathers.
It makes you uncomfortable when she looks at you. She makes a demand.
Her demands come often and always create uncomfortably simultaneous feelings of resentment and obedience.
ACQUIRE NICKELS
That is the territory of the Lucy faction. They are the ones who gather nickels. Woodsnoopy 45 is overstepping her boundaries.
Being a mere Woodsnoopy 799, however, you can do naught but obey."

I played through it earlier in the week. It reminds me of that ultra-violent cartoon some guy uploaded from his teen years that was drawn with magic marker in a composition book. Hell planet, or something?

Yeah, I played through some of it before posting this. I'm thinking I hadn't played through it enough though as it is quite disturbing in places. At the very least (due to the scene with Peppermint Patty), it should probably be marked NSFW.

I'm not sure whether to laugh or to curl up in a ball.

Awesome world building, I really enjoyed this.

Because it says "orgasm" in the text?

Now your comment needs to be marked NSFW. And mine too!

I'm not sure whether to laugh or to curl up in a ball.

Curl your laughs into little balls. Hold them against the ground. Remove them when Charlie comes to kick them.

Never doubt this was anything less than your entire purpose.

It has to do from where the new Snoopy emerged from. There are worse things elsewhere though.

Changing the character encoding to UTF-8 seems to help. But it changes back when you restart.

For example, this
Ҁ Ⓞ θ Ð Ⓖ ℝ Ⓘ ξ ƒ Ⓖ Ф О Ð Ҁ ℞ Ⓘ Ⓔ ℉ Ⓖ О Ⓞ Ð Ҁ ℞ ⚕ Ⓔ ℉
turns into this
Ҁ Ⓞ θ Ð Ⓖ ℝ Ⓘ ξ ƒ Ⓖ Ф О Ð Ҁ ℞ Ⓘ Ⓔ ℉ Ⓖ О Ⓞ Ð Ҁ ℞ ⚕ Ⓔ ℉
Might be specific to Firefox, I dunno, I don't really have anything else installed right now

I get to the "you are an explorer" page and the next page is nothing but the garbled gibberish characters reprise the theme posted. Is there another branch off besides 'pick up mask' that I missed somewhere?

There's a link hidden in that page.

One thing I discovered after posting this is that it's really short. There really aren't that many choices. The "winning" route isn't hugely more satisfying than the others, although it does result in freedom for the protagonist.

You are in a maze of twisty little Charlie Browns, all alike.

That was... surreal.

I stand corrected...

This:
Peppermint Patty sits in her lair, surrounded by a spider's web of zig-zag patterns.
She is idly scrawling a zig-zag in the dust on a piece of particle board.
The wood is supported on the naked back of Marcy, who exists in a debased primal state with forty-nine heads surrounding a single hand.
Each sings a different note, an chorus of "Sir!"s repeatedly incessantly, staggered just so that the rising tones give the impression of a single endlessly-rising scale. This Shepard's choir of heads minutely modifies its amplitude to keep the illusion going.
It is the single most beautiful thing you have ever heard.

Peppermint Patty howls "CHUCK!!!" again. A Snoopy head peeks out between her beautifully segmented, exquisitely tanned and toned legs.
The dripping orgasm of her screams coats the walls with a vomitous green, like split pea soup, first figuratively and then literally.
...is surreal.

Trivia: one of the inspirations for MASTABA SNOOPY was porpentine's Batman is Screaming

Some reboot. I'm not sure the franchise is ready for this, but I look forward to the movie anyhow.

I wanted pictures. Maybe not of that Peppermint Patty part.

I . . . I love this. I wonder who wrote it. It reminds me of the work of Zack Parsons, or perhaps some of the stranger SCP entries.

When I was little, I was very fond both of Egyptian archaeology and of Peanuts. The title MASTABA SNOOPY resounds with me.

Countess Elena, that SCP comparison is dead on. I knew it was reminding me of something.

There are a number of elements of this that remind me of Bruce Sterling's story "Swarm".

Holy crap, that "This guy/gal wrote it" post links to Roasted Peanuts. WHICH IS MY OWN PERSONAL BLOG.

First choice I made was lethal.

I... don't think I understand this game, if in fact it is a game, which is not clear.

I think it's more an exploration of the world than a game. Still, interesting to explore for a little while.

The Garfield version of this would be even darker, I think.

Two things. First thing: the writing reminded me of a novel I read called Vurt, which is quite idiosyncratic in a similar way with all the squirming, puking and feathers. Second thing: I had actually forgotten about the pile of collected peanuts paperbacks I rescued from a bin when I was a kid until I played this game. After five minutes in the game, my mind felt like it was being poked with a cotton tip and then I remembered those little books with snoopy in them. I haven't really thought about my childhood cultural diet until now.

The sex scenes between Nermal and Odie will give you nightmares for weeks.
