Doesn't really work that well, but I always love to see Joffrey get smacked around.

we really really do need a fantasy comedy. Untapped gold, Hollywood! C'mon!

That gold's done been tapped, and it turned out to be a bunch of yellow rocks.

Looking over the list of fantasy-comedies at Wikipedia, I think it's pretty clear that only Terry Gilliam and Jean-Pierre Jeunet seem to have a real knack for that kind of material.

As a solid fan of both Seinfeld and Game of Thrones I so much wanted to like this. However, I find that simply adding a laugh track and the signature Seinfeld music didn't make the selected GoT scenes seem comical.

Is this supposed to be some kind of roundabout commentary on the Seinfeld show, i.e., that it really wasn't funny if you removed the canned laughter and the wacky soundtrack? Or, is this theorizing that you can make anything seem funny if you couch it in a standard sitcom way? Either way, fail.

I do however like what the same YouTube guy did with The Dark Knight as a romantic comedy.

Far be it from me to speak ill of the humor-providing powers of marijuana, but both of those recent examples may have been helped if somebody had taken a two handed mace to the bongs and vaporizers in the writers' room.

I thought Game of Thrones Seinfeld kinda works. I think it points out two things:

1) A laugh track really makes things surreal. Not funny - but comedic if you know what I mean?

2) In the absence of a laugh track, the situations in Seinfeld could border on horrifying.

I actually think this kind of works, though not in the knee slapping way we might be accustomed such mashups to work. One of the signature things about Seinfeld is awful people getting into awful predicaments. GoT... kinda similar. One for laffs, one for dramatic effect. Tossing those together, and the result is... well... a bit unsettling.

On preview, what helmutdog says.

This made me feel like a trained dog because all the parts with Seinfeld music were hilarious, and all the parts without were boring.

I liked it! It might be because I have been trained to respond to laugh tracks though. Hmm.
