Somewhere between his earlier rendition of Go the F**k to Sleep (again on YouTube, NSFW) and Radiohead's cover of Wonderwall comes Samuel L. Jackson covering Taylor Swift.
If The Avengers 2 isn't a musical I am going to cry myself to sleep every night at the waste. I will settle for a karaoke scene, or even a nice compilation album.
Seriously, Samuel L. Jackson + the most of the rest of the cast who sing beautifully + explosions + badassery + musical = HILARIAWESOME, motherfucker, do you speak it?

And if that wasn't enough SLJ, here is 10 minutes of Samuel L Jackson singing Beez in the Trap, looping a clip made to promote the 2012 BET Awards.

It just made Taylor Swift's day. She just tweeted about it herself.

I have watched that entire Beez in the Trap video before. It is mesmerizing. Samuel L. Jackson could read the back of a cereal box and it would be awesome. RECOMMENDED DAILY ALLOWANCE OF RIBOFLAVIN, YOU MOTHERFUCKERS!

Maybe they can go on tour together. Snakes on a tour bus style.
Maybe Samuel L Jackson, Taylor Swift, and Psy can do a tour bus based reality show. I'd watch it.

Best part was when he imitated that car horn sound at the end. Mind blown.

Reminded me more of Christopher Walken doing Lady Gaga, though not quite as good.

Via this post, I have unexpectedly discovered a deep, profound truth — one that has been my guiding light for many, many years, yet I never was quite aware of it, nor had I heard it expressed so succinctly and directly:
It's always good to make fun of Oasis.

Are there other examples of Jackson pulling a Shatner?

The mid to late nineties were a weird time, with what seemed like the whole of the media racing to try to take Oasis as seriously as they took themselves. Remember, calling someone your Wonderwall means comparing them to the indifferent soundtrack to a long-forgotten flop of a movie.

I got Go the Fuck to Sleep for Christmas. I had seen the posts about it around when it came out, but not having a kid, I didn't really pay attention. Anyway, it's just a great book, funny in the right way, tender in the right way. It is not what I was worried about, which is a one-note joke. Anyway, after reading it aloud, and laughing and laughing, my wife and I remembered that there was a version read by SLJ, and we eagerly went to watch it. I was very disappointed with it, since it's just Jackson playing to type. I would much prefer someone who didn't so regularly use fuck reading it.

OmieWise, the Werner Herzog version is good for that.

with the sound of moloids,
with screams they have screamed
for a thousand years
(Stark:) The hills fill my heart
with the sound of moloids
and the Hulk wants to pound

Exactly, Iosephus! The Whelk, the already-released albums don't count because they're not about gloriously punching and/or blowing shit up. Or I guess in Jeremy Renner's case, sneaking around in the air ducts like a ninja.
