One year ago, everyone's favourite extreme sports geezer Tony Hawk launched a youtube channel called RIDEChannel. They're still going strong and one of their most fun features is the Shred-It Card, where viewers submit videos of their own tricks and Tony Hawk & friends score them video game style, paying out high scores in skate shop credit.

I love this. The music really seals the deal for me.

Just a natural evolution from THPS to Tony Hawk: Ride and Tony Hawk: Ride 2: Shred which had their own skateboard peripherals, to this. Pretty cool they added wheels to the controller.

As a THPS player from way back I gotta complain about how they changed the scoring. They are giving combos even when you don't link tricks with a revert to a manual.

I'm going to check GameStop later to maybe pick up the new wheeled controller for this, it's been a while but I should be able to rack up some sick scores, when you do a 900 to revert to manual to 900 you really rack up the points.

Ad Hominem: If you're looking for a skateboarding game, as much as I love Tony Hawk (and the old THPS games), let me recommend Skate 3.

It took me too long to realize Tony Hawk was a real person and not a videogame character.

Fantastic videos.

It's too bad the Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD reboot last summer was so disappointing. As mentioned above, Skate 1, 2, & 3 are where the action is.
