Inspired by 88 lines about 44 women (official video, NSFW "mondo documentary" footage), here are 88 lines about 44: fangirls, presidents, bloggers, rats, 2011 news stories, sitcoms, men (track 8), Simpsons, yelpers, e-cigs, cars, and mefites.

For the curious, here's the Google search I used: "88 lines about 44 *" -intitle:"44 women"

Wow, so many people in the 44 Mefites song that you don't see on Mefi anymore. It's clearly time for a sequel.

I just played that in Turntable today on a whim, the first time I've heard it in years!

Is it bad or good that I get all of the references in the fangirl song? Even the ones I wish I didn't know about (like Gor).

The mefite one is BRILLIANT!

GOd I love this song so much. I don't know what it is, but there are few moments in any music more viscerally thrilling to me every single time than "Jezebel went forty days drinking nothing but perrier / Dinah drover her chevrolet into the San Francisco Bay." I can't describe it. It just spins the whole tenor of the song around from "dude talking about women he's known/dated" to a desperate "people need help, yo." Every damn time.

And don't forget 88 Lines About 44 Mefites.

I can't find a copy online, but Keith Knight did an abbreviated version about 22 roommates in one of his earliest books (probably Dances with Sheep) that was pretty funny. "Patrick was a hippie, liked to hang out in the nude/Mona liked to let it rip and say it wasn't rude."

As soon as I saw the title, I thought to myself "wouldn't it be funny if they didn't include cortex's mefi version?" Actually, I find it a bit interesting that people still regularly make derivatives of 44 Lines. It is a good song though, so maybe not that interesting.

(Or, in other words, ocherdraco needs to work on reading comprehension, as that was clearly in the post.)

Back when I wrote the now-defunct blog about law school from which I drew my username, I studied for my 1L Constitutional Law exam by writing 88 Lines about 44 Plaintiffs. Of interest only to others who have taken a 1L Constitutional Law class, I'd imagine, but it covers most of the big cases and I did pretty well on the exam, so there's that.

Someone else has to do it this time.

88 Lines is a good song, but a much better trope.

Is there an 88 lines about 44 songs about 88 lines about 44 things?

You beat cortex to it. (Though to be fair, he didn't even have six years to get it done.)

Cortex has a lot of hobbies,
He composed the meta song,
Had six years to follow up,
Can't be assed to get it done.

I just played that in Turntable

Reason #426 why I'm overjoyed to be older than snot: ability to throw Mood Swing LP onto actual turntable . . . especially since "Everytime I Touch You" is an even better song.
