World's Largest Snowball Fight

While, ostensibly a promotion for a camera company, the world's record for the largest snowball fight was staged earlier this year by Snow Day and benefited the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County. It also looks like it was a lot of fun to participate in.

With three months of a slightly warm spring (otherwise known as summer), followed by nine months of cold yet impotent cloud cover, snow is a friendly natural disaster that brings Seattleites together. It might be the only thing that brings Seattleites together. Not counting booze.

To really do this right, you have to be throwing snowballs and also sledding down Denny on found items. Snowmageddon 2008, I miss you.

What amuses me is, TTBOMK Seattle hasn't had any snow yet this year— all of that snow was trucked in (looks like it was snow from nearby mountain passes).

I still have some bruises from that event, as snow that has been sitting out and compacted (from the earlier fort building) makes for icy balls of doom. The guys with shields and helmets were smart.

What was entertaining was how some people naturally grouped together based on whatever fort they happened to be near, so that they would defend/go after other nearby forts and steal their flags.
