A 20-minute cure for the blahs

How much of a certain activity is too much? "Marla Deibler, executive director of the Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia, often advises patients with anxiety or depression to do 20 minutes of..."

"...housecleaning. Per day."

People have varying habits when it comes to cleaning their houses. In the article above we learn the profiles of different types:
24%, are "quick and convenient" cleaners, who spend about 4 1/2 hours a week cleaning, Ms. Simermeyer says. The "Cleaning is Nirvana" group, about 19% of consumers, finds joy in cleaning but is less process-oriented than the routinists, spending only about 4 hours and 18 minutes a week to clean.
(Yes, that's one profile for 4.5 hours per week, and a separate profile for 4.3 hours per week.)

Also: "70% of consumers scrub their teeth too hard... toothbrush bristles and abrasives found in toothpaste will erode teeth and gums if used with too much force."

This post was deleted for the following reason: Heya, a WSJ fluff piece about scrubbin' and P&G's product strategy with a wee sidebar of soundbytes about cleaning-as-therapy is really kinda thin for a post; if there's some actual meat to Deibler's therapeutic stuff, maybe a post that went to the research behind that in a little more detail would be more interesting? -- cortex
