Little Marcy

Little Marcy was one-half of a Christian ventriloquist's act, but I wouldn't be surprised if her creepy grin and high-pitched singing were responsible for frightening more kids into becoming atheists than converts.

Yah - more than a little creepy, and possibly even prohibited under Judaic law ( golems? ) I supose that it is similar (vaguely) to any given person's appreciation of the works of C.S. Lewis. While a devoted fan of both the Narnia series and his SciFi stuff (and his criticism - escepially regarding his contemporary, Tolkien) I have come across many people whom detest his works as coniving allegories in the crusade for christianity. I guess it all depends whether you're a kid of not when you become exposed to this stuff - adults are a cynical species.

The Interstellar Cafe (which is responsible for this Marcy page) also hosts a wonderfully eclectic radio program called 'Friendly Persuasion'. Last week's show was devoted to the Tiujana Brass (remember Mr. Nice? (flash link)), it was great. Not only that, but, on the same site you'll also find the home of The Bran Flakes, an equally eclectic, and really fun to listen to, band.

No, I'm not affiliated with either in any way, I just really dig their stuff :)

Ah, Herb Alpert. The Tijuana Brass's "Whipped Cream & Other Delights" record has long been a favorite of mine, along with many of their others.

Uh, not to put to fine a point on it but that's a link to my show's station!

Little Marcy even looks like she's had a few face lifts.

fizgig: Otis has also done a complete show dedicated to Little Marcy. I hope he offered cash prizes to anyone who could prove that they sat through the whole show without deliberately rupturing their eardrums with an icepick.

Little Marcy looks an awful lot like another creepy character.
