"Dear Mohammad,

The US Government would like to cordially invite you to a tea and coffee session at our office. Let's get to know each other a little better. We'd like to begin at 3 pm. If the conversation gets interesting, plan on staying a long time.

Sincerely,
US DOJ"

Given that the country's largest Arabic (ethnic) community is located in Detroit, I'm surprised they didn't start here in this location sooner.

5000 people is a small fraction of the arabic community as a whole. Making it an invitation is pretty gracious, given whats happenned elsewhere in the country, and especially given the events that precipitated such invitations being sent in the first place.

Please. This isn't "Mich.", it's the Department of Justice, which last time I looked was some kind of out of town outfit. It's in Michigan because we've got the biggest Arab population this side of the Atlantic.

One of the authors of the letter in Carol Anne's link is appropriately named Robert P. Cares.

scottfree: Speaking of Robert P. Cares, here he is in a previous case involving both terrorism and the public's right to know. (Scroll way down)
