Wow - sometimes life is like the movies... dozens of fake licenses, never sleeping in the same bed twice, robbing banks, pulling a gun on a website operator.

I am sure they will when they find him.

Onward christian patriots. What a sick bunch of nuts.
Can these fanatics be distinguished from Al Qieda? I'm having trouble telling them apart, aside from the dif't teams they root for.

Extremists all look the same to me, left, right, Muslim, Christian makes no difference.

Sure you can. These yokels aren't smart enough to come up with actual anthrax.

Wow, that's amazing, and surreal. Neal Horsley, of all people, trying to paint himself as a plucky victim (!) of the Bad Man who took him hostage (!!), fighting for the lives of those poor abortion clinic workers (!!!) . It's like a twisted game of Good Fundie, Bad Fundie.

If there were ever two birds more of a feather, I've yet to hear of the pair. Thanks for the link, crunch, always good to know what the fringe-type crazies are up to.

Sounds like the nut wing of the anti-abortion movement's getting sick and tired of being ignored by the media. Horsley's concerned about the lives of abortion workers?!?! Come on! This is the Nuremberg Files guy!

Well, it's still a question as to how truthful this is- the post-gazette doesn't cite any sources other than Horsley's site, although it says the US Marshalls confirmed they've got the tape, and the local police have contacted the FBI but won't discuss details. It could be a hoax perpetrated by Waagner [and Horsley?] to draw attention to their cause by co-opting the dirty work of some other lunatic- but it's also been the MO of these anti-abortion terrorists to use Anthrax threats against PP offices for some time. Further, apparently federal officials searched the Waagner family home for information a week ago looking for his whereabouts.

However, I'm not seeing this story repeated at all on the major news sources (unless I missed them, but a search turns up little) and its been two days since the P-G published this. It's been something of a mini-scandal how Ashcroft et al have handled this; when Planned Parenthood offered their experience in dealing with anthrax attacks, they were ignored. And the media, it seems, has been too quiet about raising the speculation that this is both domestic and anti-abortion in nature. I can't say I'd be surprised if this kinda got sat on, even if true. I've long noticed, for exapmle, that the media lingo calls extremist environmentalists "eco-terrorists", while extremist fundie clinic bombers/assassinators are called "abortion activists".

Anti-Abortion Escapee Joins bin Laden on FBI List. "Clayton Lee Waagner vows to kill as many Americans as possible connected with abortions--doctors, bookkeepers--it makes no difference. The self-described terrorist claims his mission is God's will." (WOMENSENEWS article plus mug shot.)

Ah, more of religion's rich and beautiful blessings on our world. May I suggest an alternate letter to Ashcroft...

Mr. Ashcroft, please find enclosed in the accompanying crate this sorry son of a bitch. Please ensure that he is subjected to a speedy and fair trial before his peers, treated with dignity and respect, and is never allowed to see the light of day again while being cared for with the highest standards for the treatment of prisoners. The goal thereof being that he will see what valuing life is really about.

If they really wanted to find him perhaps they should look at Eric Rudolph's place in Cleveland, TN. :)

The FBI Announces New Information Regarding Top Ten Fugitive Clayton Lee Waagner. "During the second week of October 2001, more than 280 letters that threatened to contain anthrax were mailed to women's reproductive health clinics on the east coast. The envelopes were marked "Time Sensitive" and "Urgent Security Notice Enclosed." The envelopes also bore return addresses of the U.S. Marshals Service or the U.S. Secret Service. During the first week of November 2001 a second series of more than 270 anthrax threat letters were sent to women's reproductive health clinics via Federal Express. Over Thanksgiving weekend, authorities received information that Clayton Lee Waagner has claimed responsibility for sending these letters to women's reproductive health clinics."
