Hey! How did THEY know I was a "Fat Fuck?" posted by ColdChef at 7:55 AM on November 29, 2001
Looking at his list of nicknames in the source, this guy seems pretty dedicated to the classic school of insult comedy, wherein application of "fuckface" to a randomly selected audience member is the pinnacle o' wit. posted by BT at 7:56 AM on November 29, 2001
I am Towel Boy, which is interesting, considering my sex... posted by dagnyscott at 7:57 AM on November 29, 2001
"That Bastard" I should get a nametag that says that. I like that. =)
But if I use my birth name, it says "Gimp." posted by ZachsMind at 7:59 AM on November 29, 2001
Anybody here have a nickname in real life? Interesting phenomenon...Some people at my work have nicknames, but how well do you have to know someone to use their nickname? ("Mandy" for "Amanda" doesn't count.) Sports guys get the best nicknames. posted by luser at 7:59 AM on November 29, 2001

You think those guys have cool nicknames? Check 70s Jamaican (cricket) fast-bowling legend Michael Holding, aka The Whispering Death... posted by bifter at 8:04 AM on November 29, 2001
Bifter, was Michael Holding one of the duo mentioned in Brian Johnston's famous cricket commentating gaffe?

That's the fella! :-) (other way round though - the bowler was Holding the batsman's Willie... erm...) posted by bifter at 8:22 AM on November 29, 2001
Ugly.
I think I'd rather be the Stalker. posted by oddity at 8:25 AM on November 29, 2001

Hmm. Not digging it. These things were around all over the shop a long time ago - prison bitch name generator, mobster name generator, contemporary dance name generator. If they ever succeeded at all it was on the creativity and amusingness of the names chosen for the list and the occasional amusing serendipity of right name with right person. These are just universally offensive. posted by tucola at 9:03 AM on November 29, 2001

Well, that's how they got that way, but erm, yeah. posted by digital_insomnia at 9:47 AM on November 29, 2001
Look at the source. It basically adds up the letters in your name, then picks a name out of an array. About as interesting as finding out your checksum, or if your name == 666. posted by kurumi at 10:11 AM on November 29, 2001
Shadowkeeper do you realize that they ask for you Social Security Number and your mothers Madien name. There is no way i would give out that info. You would have to be a foo... you should remove that link. Mr. is stealing peoples info. posted by aj100 at 11:53 AM on November 29, 2001

aj100: Um, the information you put into the form doesn't actually get sent anywhere, so it's perfectly safe to put in any information you like.
Looking at the JavaScript, it's pretty obvious that someone is doing things the hard way... someone seriously needs to clue that dude in to the charCodeAt method of the String object (see matchLtr()) posted by kindall at 12:21 PM on November 29, 2001
I tried this thing the first day it was posted on MeFi and ended up getting the same answer I got today. And I am still confused... I am Nipples hear me roar. posted by terrapin at 2:06 PM on November 29, 2001
