Images from Africa of rock art, including the kind described in the article. Lots of photos; may be a slow download. Also includes details of sites throughout the continent.

Detailed and thorough study of rock art and the various schools of interpretation. Includes images of therianthropes from the Les Trois Frères cave in France.

Reading Rock Art, an article with a few images. Very academic, but interesting.

I could swear that National Geographic Magazine did a story on Grotte Chauvet a few months ago. It had pictures and everything. If it's the same article I'm thinking of, the creature depicted was sort of half-man, half-bull or bison, and they'd called it the 'sorcerer', or the 'wizard' or something like that. The images were in fact surprisingly sophisticated compared to what we think cave paintings ought to look like. Sadly, National Geographic doesn't keep an online archive, so no links to that.

But here are a couple others:

Horses
The sorcerer (scroll down a little)
A more thorough examination of the pictures.

Probably the greatest propaganda campaign ever carried out has been selling the idea that Vampires and Werwolves are fiction.
