The Web Standards Project blasts Microsoft's "arrogant" break with standards in IE 5.5/Windows Edition. Please read the press release and, if you agree, post it to your favorite mailing lists and news groups. This must not stand.

And I still hear people say, "You still use Netscape?" or, "For those of you who still use Netscape." It's because of this my friends. I know that Micro$oft does not care if I use it's products or not...

I wonder exactly what standards that Micro$oft has ignored. The release mentions DOM Level 1 core and portions of the
CSS1 specification, but is not terribly specific.

As ericost mentionned, I do think the press release was misleading, although I do support the call to MS to support W3C standards in their products. And like Dean_Paxton, I would also appreciate it if someone could bring me up to date on exactly which portions of the standards have been ignored by MS.

Ed has issues with my response to his post, I have issues with ed's issues.

I would really love to hear what others think about the release. Have you had much response Zeldman?
