Murph had hair!

He must have donated it to J's bangs.

I'm just here to say that, by the magic of some Gods, Dinosaur Jr. are still incredibly wonderful and the last 2 albums have been essential rock 'n' roll picks that have blown me away. Rock Gods pray for this kind of relevancy.

I saw Dinosaur Jr play a few nights ago at a small club here in PHX. Goes without saying -- amazing. That said, J Mascis does not change facial expressions at all when he plays... he's like a guitar savant or something.

After the show, I ran into him in the parking lot and was like, "Hey man! Great set!" He looked at my shoes or somewhere near my shoes, mumbled "All right..." and fled to his tour bus. Not in an offensive way or anything... that dude just really wanted to be left alone.

If he really wants to be left alone he's in the wrong business.

Neato.

I'm pretty sure my (now) wife was at that gig.

There is a good chance that I was at that gig. Dino Jr played all over the place in the Pioneer Valley back then but they weren't a really big name band. Murph worked where I worked delivering pizzas at El Greco and we spent a lot of time sitting in the back room talking about nothing. Thanks for this.

Jessamyn, I didn't know you worked at El Greaso. How much olive oil did they keep on hand, after all? Former Hampsters want know.

You know, I wondered about that at the time. There was actually no extra olive oil on the pizzas there was just a lot of really really greasy cheese.

Ah, man! I had a phase where I loved Dinosaur Jr. back in high school, when I read Our Band Could Be Your Life. So glad the podcast directed me here.
