My First Rifle

In Cumberland county, KY, a 5 year old shot and killed his 2 year old sister. That's usual enough these days - what's different about this is the weapon he used. My First Rifle is a single shot .22 rifle marketed to kids by Crickett Firearms.

All the other pages on the Crickett site besides the front page seem to have been deleted, but it once featured a "Kids' Corner" including infants holding the rifle, and the hot pink version for girls.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Broken links and "ugh this is a terrible gun related accident" are a bad combo for a post about this topic. -- jessamyn

I think that last link is broked.

Looks like even the Crickett front page is gone now.

The pictures of all those babies holding real guns are unreal.

"Just one of those crazy accidents."

....speechless.

"Just one of those crazy accidents," White said.

Yeah, the randomness of this whole incident is astounding. The odds? Well, clearly impossible to predict. There is nothing to learn from this. NOTHING!

"Just one of those crazy accidents."
"Predictable outcome of a system of laws, social institutions and culture" is too difficult.
