BBC Radio 4 has begun to transmit Tweet of the Day, a 90 second 5:58 A.M. weekday broadcast (also podcast!), featuring the songs of UK birds. The program is set to last for 265 episodes, and will feature a revolving door of presenters, beginning with Sir David Attenborough.

Which really really is the most Radio 4 thing to do ever. Just after Farming Today and just before Today.

This is beyond awesome.

But putting these birds right next to Princess Monster Truck's thread seems like an accident waiting to happen.

I've been enjoying the hell out of this, usually in the car on the way into work. Sir David makes my whole day.

This is so lovely and perfect and Radio 4. I don't live in the UK and listen via iplayer but now I want to send in my license fee anyway.
