Beautiful footage. It's particularly pleasing to see that Londoners have been walking straight into traffic without looking for nearly a century now. Also, so many hats!

Not just hats -- so many caps on Petticoat Lane! Also, I imagine the cop in the last scene approaching the cameraman and saying "What's all this, then?"

As I was watching the last scene, I was thinking to myself that only a Londoner of 1927 would think that a view of a policeman heading your way 'breathes the romance of London into every corner of the Empire'.
Big Ben makes a bit more sense.

I like all of the behatted gents in Petticoat Lane looking back over their shoulder at the moving camera in a mixture of curiosity and unease.
