The Billy Idol / Aquaman pairing delights me beyond belief.

I was hoping there would be a Legion of Doom version! But I'm disappointed there's no Black Manta and wait what the hell are these Marvel characters doing here

I may have to own some of that. And I know someone who really needs to see Batman. Thank you!

These are awesome is all I have to say, though I think the villains have a bit more awesomeness.

I am currently mad at myself for not thinking of the Wonder Woman/Siouxsie Sioux combo earlier.

If only there was one of SuperModMan defiantly Going Underground on his flying Rickenbacker of Righteousness, my life would be complete. As it is, I will settle pretty happily for the Devo cover, which is a thing of beauty.

I was just reading 'Totally Wired' by Simon Reynolds ...

Like much of the genre: contrived, but it somehow just works right doesn't it.

YES Billy Idol and Robert Smith.

The Batman/Joy Division pairing is kinda perfect.

Maybe the next project could be a hair metal Legion of Doom? Rob Halford as Lex Luthor, Mick Mars as Solomon Grundy, David Lee Roth as the Joker?

They totally missed an opportunity by not including The Atom (Ant).

And isn't Robert Smith already a part of the DC Universe?

No, because that is clearly Andrew Eldritch in a wig.

I was disappointed to not see Mark E. Smith as Elastic Man. His hand would be holding a pen, writing the title.

I'm still trying to forget that "Friday I'm In Love" exists. The Robert Smith illo gets the gas face.

The Bush as Two Face poster was pure genius.

Except for the typo in Mark's name, of course. Mothersbaugh.

You and me both. Just in case, of course, anyone is sitting there pensively tapping their lower lip wondering exactly what to buy me for a random gift. The t-shirt would also work, albeit no smaller than 2X, preferably 3X.

MeMail me for mailing info.

Yeah, I've always wanted a new, awesome Wonder Woman movie, but today I'm seeing it solely as a "Cities in Dust" soundtrack delivery mechanism.

Damn -- I didn't see the order link for prints and t-shirts before sending this to my partner. Which either means I just totally missed the easiest gift opportunity ever or will find some debit card charges to Brazil soon.

Also on his tee-shirt page there's this Sid & Nancy/Super Mario Bros mashup (much better than the version in your head right now), which was an instant order for me.

Never Mind the Blocks

That's just brilliant.
posted by middleclasstool at 8:03 AM on May 16, 2013

I also have a completely different 'Never Mind the Blocks' shirt, bought from the long-departed Way of the Rodent in the mid-2000s. It's a pun that keeps on giving.

The Bush as Two Face poster was pure genius.

That implies a tragical fall from grace as well as a deep intelligence marred by schizoid impulses, both of which are appraisals far too generous for Bush. He's more of a Solomon Grundy at best. And I can see Cheney as a MODOK.

I disagree with Ian Curtis as Batman, sorry. But Siouxie as Wonder Woman: hell yeah!

Don't make me come over there and smack you for insulting Solomon Grundy... I will take on you AND your Esoteric Order.

The Ian Curtis/Batman thing... well maybe the actual comic would be kinda boring, but something about the image/the lyrics/I dunno what is pretty amazing. I saw this on the AVClub's feed, and instantly ordered the t-shirt... and thought, man, I hope this doesn't get spread too widely, I want it to ship before the C&D hits.

But I don't really know, maybe DC isn't that litigious?
