Man killed in deadly terror attack in London street

A man has been killed in public in a brutal machete attack on the streets of Woolwich, London. One attacker was captured on camera (NSFW) brandishing a knife and cleaver, claiming the attack was in retaliation for violence against Muslims. There are unconfirmed reports that the victim was a British soldier. Two suspects are in hospital, having been shot by police at the scene.

In related news the social media site Friends Reunited, rebranded last year as a nostalgia site where people can "collect and share millions of memories", committed a massive faux pas by tweeting an old picture of Woolwich with the caption "Woolwich, in quieter times…long before alleged shootings and beheadings of today". The site subsequently removed the tweet and apologized.

This post was deleted for the following reason: Maybe save a post about this for when there's a little more info, and skip the confusing mashup of brutal killing + social media faux pas gossip? -- cortex

The perps were shouting "Allahu Akbar".

People interviewing the perp before the police had even arrived. Now that's just surreal.
