La Petite Mélancolie (NSFW)
Is mainly a French photo blog which has plenty of excellent timesink in it. From Hannah Hoch to Romy Schneider and from Edward Steichen to Jorge Caceres
It is difficult to describe this site which sometimes verges on the pornographic but also has many pages on surrealists such as Paul Eluard and Jacques Prevert,
as well as other avant garde people such as the Czechs Karel Tiege and Milan Kundra.

Boy, that Hannah Hoch was something else. If you can get past the appropriation of African art (hey, they were all doing it in the Twenties), her stuff - as the only woman in the Berlin Dada movement - is fantastic.

There's a guy who's name is "Prevert"? That had me chuckling, I'm afraid.

So instead of finding out a little more about Jacques Prevert you choose to giggle at his name.?
Brings to mind a quote of his:
"Eat on the grass
Hurry up
Sooner or later
The grass will eat on you" .

Fantastic stuff, and yes, the time sink of it all is very absorbing.

Also, a photography blog that scrolls vertically?! Très magnifique!

Hardly an either/or question.

Ah the golden age of the photographic collage. I always thought Rodchenko's work wasn't quite titillating enough, you can count on the French to come through in that regard.

The first post (Malika Mokadem): I kinda wish she hadn't gunked up those photos by 'shopping in the exact same old-timey photoplate border onto each and every one of them.
