Can I get an Amen Break?

"But when we listened to it, a drum break beat, I recognized the rhythm right away. I'd heard it in television commercials and the music of James Brown, and elsewhere. You probably have too. I became intrigued when I saw an image of the audio waves themselves because I immediately recognized the Golden Ratio in the structure of its timing. And I was surprised to find an even deeper relationship to the structure of the human body."

Oh for heaven's sake. More nonsense about things that vaguely appear to match the golden ratio, kind of.

I am hoping to see a snark-to-comment ratio of about 1:1.618 here.

golden ratio or no, the amen break is an important (and awesome) part of musical history. everyone should take the 20 minutes and watch roll truck roll's video.

Someone needs to do a 3 minute track that's nothing but alternating Amen Breaks and Wilhelm Screams. Maybe throw in a peal of Castle Thunder after every fifth pair.

What Xil said. There are 15 panels of golden ration proportions sitting on my tablesaw right now and I'm rolling my eyes here.

This looks like a job for Fourier transform!
