Why do humans and animals alike do such dumb stuff? Stuff that is unnecessary, flamboyant, and often downright deadly?
I tried doing "the running man" at a dance club. Nope, it didn't work at all. (context: it was 1990, Hammer was just coming on the scene, and I was drunk.) posted by hotdoughnutsnow at 4:14 PM on December 11, 2001
speaking of johnny knoxville...was jackass cancelled from MTV? what happened to that show? every time MTV puts on a cool show it's time changes 5 times so you can't find it and then it disappears. posted by suprfli at 5:25 PM on December 11, 2001

Thanks for the link, hellinskira. I've never read anything by Conniff before, but think I will go hunt down more articles. Very fluid "take me someplace" kind of writing. posted by Bixby23 at 6:04 PM on December 11, 2001
Jackass wasn't cancelled. It was ended by Knoxville and company.

Did anyone else go here to find out more about Jackass? Not exactly what I was expecting. posted by Sinner at 11:25 AM on December 12, 2001
Yeah, what the hell is that all about? Jackass = Religious nut, I can see, but still.... posted by hellinskira at 12:26 PM on December 12, 2001
