Longer than 15, surely. Pretty sure this was up and running when I got to college in '96.

Thanks for the flashback! Loved this site back in the day.

I still remember the old computer lab at my Junior High, where kids would patiently wait ten minutes to download a funny line from a movie. Even at the time I thought that was kind of weird; now it's so weird it's sometimes hard to tell whether it was real life or a weird dream.

Looks like an anti-hotlinking measure with poor error reporting. If you copy the url and paste it and visit that, they work.

No need to be coy about it, we all know that you (and everyone else) was downloading porn. I remember trying to hide the screen for 5 solid minutes whilst an interlaced GIF image of Kelly Bundy.. well, some model who looked enough like Kelly Bundy to serve its intended purpose.. downloaded from some anonymous Rutgers FTP sever.

Man, the Daily WAV brings back some fond memories for me ... I used to be a morning radio host, and once a week I did a "stump the critic" bit with our resident film critic. Daily WAV was my go-to source for clips, and I bet I haven't thought about the site since then. Thank you for posting this.

For many years, he posted like clockwork. Then I think he lost his job and ran into some personal difficulties, and the posting became very sporadic. I hope he gets back on track.

I also found that if you click on the .wav link, and then click on the address bar and hit return/enter, that works as well. But man, was I embarrassed that my cleverly-hyperlinked FPP shot duds.

Ordinary films and TV shows from before about, oh, 2003 or so put me in this frame of mind.

ooohh, that's just so taking me back 20 years (I know, it predates this site). One of my early experiences with my first computer was collecting a whole bunch of WAV files similar to these in nature and using dropwav.exe on Windows 3.1 to play (quicker than soundrec).

Cues up intro to Bad to the Bone from Terminator 2...
