Meat Is Murder, I think.

Makes the lyrics a little less...narcissistic and the comics a little bleaker. It's a win-win!

Two great tastes that taste great together. I really liked these and I think it is, uh, respectful? of both Peanuts and the Smiths.

I guess that means I should listen to some The Smiths.

This is like saying "Water is wet."

If you must write prose and poems comic strips, the words you use should be your own. Don't plagiarise or take "on loan"!

Cathy and Throbbing Gristle

Marmaduke and GG Allin

(well, anybody and GG Allin, really)

Andy Capp and Belle and Sebastian. Or Soft Cell.

Love Is... and Black Sabbath

Pogo and the Drive By Truckers.
(That one seems like it'd actually work pretty well.)

That was wonderful. I'd have used 'I dreamt about you last night, and I fell out of bed twice' as Lucy talking to Schroder, leaning over his piano - the sort of strip that ends with him exclaiming "good grief!".

But Charlie writing letters to a buck-toothed red headed girl in Luxembourg that he met at camp? Oh yes, that works perfectly.

Is it sad that thinking of the amount of money I rolled into collecting Smiths 12" singles back when GI Bill money made life easy puts me in the sorts of moods that listening to those same records put me in when I was collecting them?

Schroder Marr was the genius in this group.

Yeah, but he got tired of Charlie's fucking endless moping and downer lyrics he was coming up with to put over the bouncy, upbeat music Schroder was writing.

"Beagle In A Coma" was the last fucking straw.
