Funny, he seemed like such a normal fellow... a little quiet...

So he never did LSD? I am dissapont.

Seriously though, I think he's a straight up genius. In the best way. He thinks that he's just banging up some stuff. But as any true creator of any kind of real art, he is making people stand up and take notice. This is the future of true art. He doesn't know how to make music, yet the Kitty City song is on my list of best tunes ever. I love Cyriak. He can impregnate me at any time. I will have his fractal babies.

Over and over and over and over and over and over...

It pleases me that he did LSD. Not because LSD isn't awesome or whatever, but because too many people creativity and imagination is a byproduct of drugs when it really, really isn't.

I once wrote a song that my band mates called 'The LSD Jam' because they were convinced that it could have been written under the influence of acid. I have never done any recreational drugs in my entire life.

Here's another of Cyriak's music videos, featuring some nifty infinite zooming.

As @subtle_violence put it: "people that are like 'wow they must have been on DRUGS when they wrote this' probably don't take drugs and probably don't write"

This is the future of true art.

I always feel silly saying things like this about cyriak when I share his stuff with other people, but it seriously is fantastic. In one sense, it's a natural result of this generation's media -- animated gifs, access to After Effects, access to high-quality photography on any subject in the world. And yet it's utterly bizarre, fantastic, unexpected, and pleasing. I hope he has inspired ten thousand kids toying around with random images using pirated copies of After Effects.

This was a great interview and I really enjoyed watching it. It seemed to be a bit of a glimpse at the genius without actually giving too deep a peek behind the wizard's curtain. He is so humble about his work, and he seems genuinely surprised to have achieved the level of success and fame he has...

I've passed this along to a couple of friends already, and they both were quite happy to have seen it, too. Thanks so much for posting!
