It's so strange seeing her as an old person. She seems to be in great shape, though.

I can't even tell you how much I love and have always loved her.

When many of my fellow 1980s gaylings were worshiping Madonna, I fell in love with Annie Lennox, her poetry, her voice, her performances, her style. (I didn't even begin to get Madonna until Ray of Light.)

I had a joke with a close friend that while we wished Annie great happiness, we also wished her great heartache, because her best songs were those she wrote about breakups and/or disappointments. It's interesting to hear her talk about her creative process.

I would love to ask her why she didn't pursue her acting career. It's like she stuck a toe in the water, and decided it wasn't for her. But she is captivating, even in this short black & white clip, speaking extemporaneously. Even her speaking voice is incredible.

Her last few albums were, for me, disappointing. But still, if she put out new music, I'd buy it, listen to it, consider it, ponder it, compare it. I'd appreciate it, even if it wasn't as good as her other stuff.

Sigh. In an alternate universe, she and I regularly get together for coffee and just talk about everything.

I thought she was pretty much retired from music. After the stunning Diva! came the, to me, less compelling Medusa, and I may have lost notice of releases after that.

My beautifully feminist mother first taught me about the strong female voice through Lennox. We'd sing-a-long as she hooned about in our datsun 1600. Long before I knew the full meanings of the lyrics I knew the power of the voice.

I just realised it's been too long since I'd heard it.

I've been a huge fan since 1983 - she's still gorgeous (inside and out) - strong female voice indeed. Thanks for this - I'd have missed it.

If you are (1) an Annie Lennox fan and (2) have not seen her "Hush, Hush, Hush" segment in the Herbie Hancock "Possibilities" video, and (3) have Netflix streaming, then you are in for a real treat. Actually, the whole video (and the CD that it documents the making of) are amazing.
