JHarris rules.

By the way, I posted the weird "What's Dylan Grillin'?" video on the Visions of Johanna Facebook page (a very popular page devoted to Dylan), and the admin was like, "I don't get it."

I felt sad.

Perfect. Now I know what to bring to the next family dinner.

I was trying to decide if "What's Dylan Grillin' " was really interactive, so I typed in 'hat'. The next thing that he turned out to be grillin (sic) was a hat. Now I am REALLY disturbed.

Hey everyone. #2 is still more of a work-in-progress. I'm still trying to get the tone down.

Also, these are really intended to be watched on Shuffle. The option for it is in the top-right corner of the playlist player.

Oh, and I should mention-- many many of these are from the posts of other Metafilter members!

Potato Knishes is a segment from a multi-part opera called "Ratboy Genius Dreams in Minecraft" and you really should watch the whole thing.

And if y'all could just post some of your fave weird YouTube videos in this thread, I'd be so grateful.

(Doesn't everyone curate a weird YouTube collection?)

Ray Sipe's The Lion King

HelixSnake's funny stuff in Skate 3 part 7

Musov Shoko's Ballad to a Wigged Dog

I'll happily add more weird stuff. I'm still removing stuff too -- I just found out there's a thirty-minute video in it that I thought was just another of EIT's distillations, but no it was the whole darn thing.

Seconded on sixohsix's recommendation of Ratboy Genius in Minecraft, it's inexplicable. I could include more, but there's a certain tone, or more like a rhythm, that I'm going for in the lists that RBG doesn't always hit.

Is there Instructions For Building A Human cause I love that.

Your list is very good. A wonderful collection. Here are a few more that might fit, or if you want to start a third volume. Or whatever.

Nyanners - Errbody in the club gettin' tipsy

Go Go Galo Sengen

Mr. Ando of the Woods

H.J. Freaks - ネトゲ廃人シュプレヒコール BAND EDITION

Baby Jocko Homo

I actually removed Meow meow I am a cat a week ago because of length, and how a lot of it is just the same scenes repeated over and over. I try to keep to less than 8 minutes except in extreme cases (like gOLDBERG vARATIONS). Baby Jocko Homo is adorable. The others... vary, heh. Go Go Galo Sengen was borderline until the end, which pushed it into classic territory.

Longer things are going into a separate list.

I also added The Whelk's Instructions For Building A Human, because it's great.

Oh, and if you want to just load up random videos culled from both lists, try this.

Welp, there just went my afternoon.

Heh, sorry about that. Still, it's nice to know that it's weird enough to keep people watching for a while. I've done quite a bit of culling, and overthinking about what should be included. Too much of a comedy sketch without compensating weirdness? Too much pony? (There's like four pony things in the whole set, and two of those are quick Derpy test patterns.) Too much Team Fortress 2? Too long? Too boring relative to the weirdness? (I had O Superman in there for a while because its 8 minutes, and it seems more pretentious than weird, but I might put it back.)

I have a dilemma. There are some things in the list I adore, and think are worthy and strange, but are not quite strange in the same way as Potato Knishes. Like the interview with Adam Savage in which he performs "I Will Survive" in the character of Gollum. It's great, but it doesn't really make you blink.

I've discussed this a bit with Potomac Avenue, and that's resulted in me removing some things, but I'm unsure if I've gone far enough. Let me post it to you guys, and let's use that as a test case.

Adam Savage performing "I Will Survive" as Gollum: weird enough?
How about a robot ass twitching and tensing and "showing emotion" for four minutes?
Or The Daily Mail Song?

Newly added -
Santo Gold/Blood Circus infomercial snippets (ancient Metafilter thread on it), some classic Kung Fu movie fight scenes (with a good amount of weirdness scattered throughout), The Nethack Song, Mr. Mochi in Oblivion, Bart The General, some shorter stuff from the meow meow I am a cat lady, more Mario corruption, Interior Crocodile Alligator, Tarvu, a little YTMND, and some insult jazz from our own mods.

I like to think of this as Turkey Television for the 21st century.

I don't know if all of these would qualify, but I love crazy stuff like this, so I threw together a random-ish mix of stuff to share. Varying length, quality and production values, all high weirdness.

A few of those are either already included or have similar things in there (like PONPONPON, Wendy's Training Video and Rotating Ferrofluid). I'll take a look at the others -- yes, all the others -- and probably add some of them, thanks!

After seeing a few, I've got to say -- you have excellent taste in weird, nTeleKy.
