Lick the light. While the professionals seem to have moved on, the political and social consequences of 9.11 are still being explored by at least one web-based political cartoonist (a few favorites). Know any others?

Also, yeah, they're lefty political cartoons. Which, around here, may be as close to a troll as I've ever posted. But in this case, the discussion these cartoons creates is kinda the point. There's even a forum at the site that encourages it. Let's just all stay cool about it, huh?

I think these cartoons pretty much say what's just sitting in the back of (some of) our minds, but they still bug me. I wouldn't mind so much if the guy had some kind of artistic talent.

Sorry, these are either way obvious or painfully oversimplified. Most of of all, they're really ugly.

Trudeau just did a week's series of Doonesbury on detentions.

I have to agree with muckster. Much of the value in political cartoons, particularly about events like those of the past few months, comes in either poignancy or connecting ideas many of us hadn't seen before. In this case, the "artist" not only has little to no talent, but rarely has a point, other than that some people can be too patriotic and that governments sometimes kill people. Brilliant, I must say.

Trudeau, on the other hand, uses the linked cartoon to juxtapose criticisms of justice in Middle Eastern countries with an American setting. It's still kind of obvious, but at least it's somewhat clever.

When I seek left-leaning political humor that's actually funny (unlike Doonesbury or Tom Tomorrow), I visit Derfcity. And when it comes to non-political topics, you can't beat his He-Boobies strips for sheer gross-out hilarity.
