Dreamspace is an animated cyberpunk comic-presented-as-visual-novel/adventure-game by artist Cryoclaire (potentially NSFW; artistic nudity) about networked psychedelics, consciousness expansion through underground social networks and gorgeous trippy neon GUIs. Like most cyberpunk fiction, the characters are all sunny, cheerful personalities, everyone has a good time and absolutely no one winds up crippled, dead or insane by the end.

That was awesome. Some of the pages have an interesting pseudo-3D quality that, interestingly, goes away when I take off my glasses.

Does it matter where you click?

The artist is obviously capable of much better, as seen on his/her tumblr page, so why is this all so horrendously ugly? It sounds like the sort of story I'd enjoy, but it's just too retina-searing to stay with.

Well, first off it's not ugly. It's pretty gorgeously multilayered and electric. Secondly, maybe you think it ugly because it takes advantage of a purposely dated mid 90's aesthetic as a part of its storytelling?

Genuinely impressed by this. Was totally taken in by the loading screen.

That wasn't depressing at ALL. Damn, that is some true cyberpunk.

Now if you'll excuse me, my eyes ran away in pain, I need to go hunt them down.

Couldn't seem to get this to load on an iPhone. Am I just not patient enough?
