This unsettled me more than this. Or maybe it's a case that she has flushed any true happiness down the toilet by being so devoted to work, that it's a good thing. The jury is out for me, but not for some rapscallion who has bid a quarter of a million.

Arranged marriages have a better rate of survival than the 'pick your own mate' dating pool ones do. More power to her for arranging her own, then.

I don't get where the speculum fits in to this, though, as an unsettling thing - I am not sure how your being unsettled by objects meant to touch a vagina fits in with a woman advertising for marriage.

Huh? This isn't some feminist empowering strategy. I'm sure a lot of marriages would last longer if being disowned from your own family was the consequence of breaking tradition by getting a divorce. You're confusing finding a partner with being stuck with one through religious tradition.

Look at it this way. You pay her a quarter million, marry her then the money becomes community property. You get half back! Then wine her and dine her (she pays of course), drive her Porsche into a lake, go on shopping sprees, double tip everyone, buy lavish gifts for everyone and in no time she will be rethinking her strategy for a mate when she sees her first bank statement. Just a theory of course.

Assuming for 69 seconds that this isn't a little advertisement trick, why should a man pay her because she wants to get married ? She should pay the man who will marry her :D If she is an enterpreneur, she surely doesn't know the laws of demand and supply.

The auction says you have to pay by credit card. Maybe her criterion isn't just that you spend a lot for her (when you're married, you get half back anyhow, right?) but that you have a credit card with a high enough limit.
