Disordered World

What if we were to discover that a different type of human being is living among us? And what if we found out that this type of person is responsible for most of the violence and greed in our world? Amazing as it may seem, that is exactly what modern psychology is telling us.

Of course, the behaviour of psychopaths hasn't gone unnoticed. They have been discussed previously here and here.

Psychopaths are interesting but "responsible for most of the violence and greed in our world" is a gross overstatement. It's also a convenient one, because it lets us ignore how much suffering we "normal" people tolerate and create, despite our supposedly great faculty for empathy.

I wouldn't expect much from a physicist writing a popular book about psychology, really.

This mostly comes across as an effort to sell a book and drum up interest in his lectures and possible radio show.
