After the first two installments made a paltry total of eight million dollars, the producers of the "Atlas Shrugged" movies have decided on a new method for funding the third film: Begging.

Did anyone actually watch the first two? I watched the trailers which looked like sub-SyFy Channel productions but I think that they're on Netflix now. I kind of hope that they finish the trilogy so that I can watch then and then never have to slog through the book.

I saw the first one in the theater with a friend who's a fellow Rand-hater; we felt like we needed to bear witness. It was as blandly shitty as we expected (although the Corporate Bro sitting a few seats down made a big deal of announcing that it was the best movie he'd ever seen), and had the unfortunate side effect of making me hate the main character of Orange is the New Black for a few episodes until i accepted that she was no longer Dagny Taggart.
Really, the monstrous, ridiculous shittiness of these movies is the most perfect possible epitaph for Ayn Rand.
