(Robinson stops by the Deadspin comments section to annotate the graphic. For once, read the comments.)

Chalet and beer mug from Milwaukee County Stadium

Aw, I miss County Stadium.

And now it's over, I miss baseball too.

Speaking of the comments, my favorite non-Robinson one killed me yesterday:

This is fantastic. Great stuff, I can tell you did a lot of research. Hey, quick question— are you the Zodiac Killer?

The palm trees for spring training and autumn trees for fall made me very happy for some reason.

That's really a not bad selection of players to represent the different eras of baseball. He didn't miss Pete Rose, he left out A. Rod, and the last representative of the Yankees is Billy Martin. Really perfect. He might have added one of the steroid eaters (McGwire or Bonds) though.

Both of them are on the top branches.

The best part about today as a lifelong Cubs fan is that as of today all the teams are on equal footing for next season. That means the Cubs are number ONE baby!

Ah damn, on reading the Deadspin author's comments, that's Pujols, not McGwire, with the birds-on-bat shirt.

Thanks. I missed it. I see Bonds now, but that's Pujols in the Cardinal uniform.

So really a perfect selection!

After last night's loss, but with the Blues hopefully making a Stanley Cup run (further than the first round), this takes a little of the sting out.

Of course, hard to feel down when your team made it to 4 World Series in the past 9 years.

Only Mr. Met to represent the Mets? I love Flip Flop Fly Ball, but screw that.

Languagehat, who/what would you have used instead?

Darryl and/or Doc. Indisputably great players of the '80s.

I respectfully disagree. The Red Sox are #1 until Opening Day. THEN, everyone is on equal footing, when everyone has an 0-0 record.

(Not a Red Sox fan.)

I am a Red Sox fan, and kind of disappointed their only appearance on the tree is ManRam (Or Pedro? Not skinny enough), and not Teddy Ballgame, Cy Young, Cal Yastrzemski or David Ortiz, who was ethereally good during the World Series (.688, better than Babe Ruth's World Series batting average, and behind only Billy Hatcher, and somehow involved in almost every scoring play - he was getting it done for the team.)

(No, wait, Williams is on there, NM. And it is Pedro and not Manny... which is good, but Ortiz would have been better emblematic of the new millennium.)
