The article has photos of people who seem to be enjoying playing cricket. Bizarre.

The mix of traditional clothing and cricket kit is remarkably, strangely beautiful.

I hope she introduced the afternoon tea break with scones.

These are awesome pics, so much better than that "Before they are gone" stiff that was posted up before.

A small quibble with the article: "Cricket came to this remote corner of Kenya... " - Laikipia is neither particularly remote, nor corner, of Kenya. It's a quite populated area, actually. It's a little thing, but not everything involving Africa and elegantly dressed tribespeople is remote or isolated, you know?

I love the Maasai. They bring effortless cool to whatever they do.

I totally expected crickets in red plaid fighting each other. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

I am tickled that some of these guys seem to have digital watches (?) or those rubbery bracelet things that have slogans on them (like the Livestrong ones).

As Africa develops and modernizes, I hope they can reconcile and integrate the traditional with the modern like this more and more, similar to the way Japanese culture does, or at least reappropriate and recontextualize westen cultural practices, like Botswanan metal culture.

Ah, this is wonderful.
I would go to more live sports events if the players all dressed this well.
