The Hero We Need

Today, San Francisco will be transformed into Gotham City, as part of an ambitious Make-A-Wish project. The idea first began as a way to fulfill the comic book fantasies of Miles, a 5 year old boy who has been fighting lukemia since he was a year old. (the disease is currently in remission thanks to treatment.) Miles will be Batkid, sidekick to a full-sized Caped Crusader, played by Eric Johnson. After garnering intense interest on social media, 12,000 people have signed up to help make Miles dream a reality. The San Francisco Chronicle put out a special front page. You can follow BatKid's attempts to save Gotham at #sfBatKid on Twitter.

This post was deleted for the following reason: It's a neat thing but there's an open post about it from a few days ago, feel free to update that with this stuff. -- cortex

I thought this had already happened. My girlfriend is actually visiting SF today. I'm going to get her to bring home a paper. Thanks for the heads up!
