Fish Portraits

Visarute Angkatavanich takes beautiful portraits of fish.

Some are quite ethereal, others capture a certain charisma, and some look like they could star in an underwater production of 'Swan Lake'.

These are phenomenally beautiful. Here is a bit more of their work.

My favorite is definitely baby Cthulhu. So adorable! I want to buy him an aquarium-sized R'lyeh.

These I like.

But to be fair, a favorite past-time of me and my wife is to go to the grocery store and laugh at how shocked the fish at the meat counter look.

Because man, do they look shocked.

Jesus, 500 is a terrible site to visit via a mobile device. I'm ashamed I have an account there.

These are absolutely gorgeous. I especially loved the Blue Velvet one. I've been wanting an aquarium so much lately, but I don't have the space to set up a decent one. This makes me want to figure out a way to do it.

There's a small aquarium in an obscure village in the middle of nowhere near our house in Japan. It has this cool thing where you can feed fish, typically rockfish, thanks to a cool hatch that allows you to be eye to eye with the fish. They have lovely, expressive eyes, much like those of a friendly, hungry dog.

@KokuRyu

I'm jealous of your house near the middle of nowhere in Japan.

I also wouldn't mind having lovely, expressive eyes, much like those of a friendly, hungry dog.
