The concept is genius on a par with Dylan Hears A Who.

A+ for the post title, btw.

The first track is "Clap Hands" (head-to-head comparison: Tom Waits version). Their instrumentation and vocals are slightly stranger than the original and that's really saying something.

Brilliant. Now I want to hear Tom Waits sing Kol Nidre.

...wow. Hebrew really lends itself to Tom Waits.

Thank you for this.

Will you accept this scene from MYSTERY MEN where he says "Zei gazunt"?

Wow, the eighth track, a wistfully crooned version of "Rain Dogs" backed up by...marimba? Talk about hearing the song in a new light!

A spooky version of "God's Away on Business" for 18, yeah?

An additional headfuck for me on the "Clap Hands" rendition is that "ka pai" is a common local Maori phrase meaning "it's good", pronounced almost identically to כפיים.

Really love Rain Dogs and I Don't Want To Grow Up.

The literal translations are weird, and then you get even weirder ones where they replaced a word to fit in with the rhyme or scansion. For instance, Mr Waits is now big in Greece (Yavan, as in "Ιόνια") rather than Japan. It just doesn't have the right connotations.

This is so well done, all hats off to those creative people involved.
What a wonderful job!

A friend of mine who is constantly combing Bandcamp and Spotify for interesting music sent this to me a few months ago.

"This is relevant to your interests," he said, because he knows stuff.

Can someone translate the titles for this goy fan?

Looks like they added English track titles below the streaming track list.

Those definitely weren't there when I posted this, because I was having fun seeing how long it took me to recognize each track. Glad to see them up, though.
