I'm reminded of my first trip to Seattle, gazing at the ring of mountains surrounding the city. "I wonder if that one is Mount Rainier? Or maybe the pointy tall one next to it. Perhaps it's thOH SHIT, that's Mount Rainier!" You know it when you see it.

(This is great.)

There is so much beautiful stuff to see out there in our National Parks! Makes me want to buy an RV and hit the road.

oh yay! i needed some buffalees pics.

My wallpaper at work is a buffalo pic. Shan't have it any other way.

Instagram is a great platform to exploit the awesomeness of the United States' national parks.

Man, this makes me realize I have got to make time to see the West Coast while I'm out here for grad school. And also learn some rudimentary photography. All of these are just stunning!

There are some really interesting (and often great) US government instagram accounts out there:

US Navy / NASA / NASA Goddard / GSA / Bureau of Land Management / USDA / Defense Intelligence Agency / TSA

I think the American West might have been created to give amateur photographers a chance to take cool pictures. It's like easy mode, everything is so inherently beautiful.

These would be some very different pictures when Bush was in office.

Somewhat off-topic: Does an instagram page have an RSS feed? I realize that's sort of like asking if my car can be equipped with reins and a bridle so my horse can pull it, but I'd really rather not sign up for another service. Getting a regular dose of awesome in my Feedly would be great, though.
