So well done, but the last thing I needed on this rainy day.

I think that it's satirical point is a little confused. It isn't sure if the point it wants to make is "grrrr, smartphones/tablets are turning us all into mindless consumerbots!!" or "grrrr, Apple deliberately builds in obsolescence into its smartphones/tablets, forcing us to buy their new models!!"

Can't it be making both points?

It's like someone put too much effort into animating an Engadget comment.

The quality is pretty amazing. The script is pretty stupid.

Have you actually watched people use their smartphones? While I agree with you on both points, it is also damningly accurate - and that's why it was apropos to name the product the iDiot.

Now, if you excuse me, I've got to delete Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja and Songsmith from my phone so I can load Bubblewitch onto it - two of my friends from third grade are on facebook and they are playing that game*.

*Not really, but - that's 90% of what I see folks doing outside of allowing work to invade their home life and send them emails during dinner and social events.

But I mean, do we really need to make a finger-wagging little morality play about the fact that people buy the latest in advanced technology so they can keep playing games and looking at cats? It's just kind of priggish and stale, like Slashdot exhumed and reanimated Andy Rooney and had him direct a Pixar short.

What a bunch of haters, I thought it was well done and don't mind being taken the piss out of, which is more than I can say for most of the commenters here.

I guess it makes sense that people who enjoy a general feeling of superiority would also enjoy this movie.
