This is honestly the coolest thing I've seen today, no pun intended. I wish we had these where I live. We have frozen lakes and rivers, so...where are my spinning ice disks?

Sounds like you need a slow, small to mid-size river that's in the process of either freezing or thawing, but not yet done. Spend a lot of time walking in the woods and I bet you could find one.

I love seeing things I never knew existed and never would have imagined.

There was this MetaFilter post about Snow Rollers a few years ago that made me feel the same way. I grew up in Northern British Columbia -- we knew some shit about snow and ice up that way, so to discover that there are snow and ice related phenomenon that I've never heard of is cool.
