I came across this site early last year and tried to join the cause. I especially liked the fact they were in my area, but I never got a response back. Anyone else have more luck? At least the website is available in Dutch, Spanish, Swedish and other assorted European languages.

See, Leornard Nimoy played a Vulcan. And salsa is usually eaten using tortilla chips by hand dipping into the salsa. And vulcans don't touch food with their hands when eating. Either that or I have watched too much Star Trek.

Dave covered this topic back last April. And I still don't understand why. Is this one of those All Your Base Are Belong To Us Ate My Balls things? What starts these things? Drunken frat parties? People sitting around with a bong and somebody goes, "heh. Y'know whut would really be funny? A website about Michelle Pfeiffer not eating enough avacadoes." I did a Google Search and this thing is far more disturbing than merely on the surface, and it's pretty disturbing on the surface. It's actually a battle between Nimoy and Williams. Right now, Nimoy is winning, but Williams is the outside favorite. It's strange that only these two guys are singled out. Why isn't there a Paul Schaeffer should eat more salsa webpage? Or a President Bush's Cabinet should eat more salsa webpage? Personally I believe all Americans should eat more carbohydrates, but that's just me.

Hey - heyyy Frasier... admittedly, Americans put a whole new meaning to the term "Teletubbies". But keep in mind that Vulcans have different physiologies than us Terrans. Their metabolism is entirely different. Nimoy can eat Mucho Salsa without gaining a pound. He's just a Salsa machine, and when he's near Chi-Chi's retaurants close their doors and quake in fear. In that, I am jealous. But it also made his face into an approximation of a Shar-Pei doggie, back when all Shatner suffered was a toupee. So. I guess it just goes to show you. Infinite Ulginess in Infinite Combinations, dude. (PS, benjh: Do you think a culture so advanced as to discover the nerve pinch, the face-groping telepathic thingie and the death grip could not overcome the tortilla chip challenge? They skip the chips - they use Vulcan Salsa Straws.)

The Foundation claims a membership of more than 500. CP: What is your organization's goal? JM, LNSEMSF: Our goal is to get Leonard Nimoy to eat more salsa. CP: How was your organization founded? JM, LNSEMSF: In 1996, Leonard Nimoy appeared on a commercial while a friend and I were eating a bowl of salsa in front of the TV. My friend turned to me and said, "You know, Jeff, Leonard Nimoy should eat more salsa." Ever since then, it has been my calling. CP: Why Leonard Nimoy in particular? JM, LNSEMSF: We simply thought that Leonard Nimoy is excellent, and that salsa is excellent, and we realized that if we combined the two, he could become an unstoppable force of excellence. CP: Are there other people who could benefit from eating more salsa? JM, LNSEMSF: I think everyone could benefit from more salsa, but right now I'm just concentrating on Leonard Nimoy. Americans should eat less. How many of you keyboard junkies couldn't shed a few pounds? I know I sure could. But, I don't think that has anything to do with salsa. I checked the info on one 12 oz. jar of salsa, and it said it had about 10 calories per serving (and no fat). With 11 servings in the jar, you could eat the whole jar and only consume 110 calories. You could eat a jar of salsa with every meal, and only add 330 calories to your daily intake. Just think how much less of everything else you would eat if you had three jars of salsa everyday. You could subsitute salsa for salad dressing. You could put it in almost anything. Of course, you would need to skip the chips to cut down on the weight.

I strongly disagree with this movement. Leonard Nimoy does not need more excellence via salsa. He is already imbued with enough excellence. Were Leonard Nimoy to aquire more excellence than he already has, it could mean an imbalance of excellence throughout the planet, which could be a harbinger of doom. I believe Calista Flockhart should eat more salsa.
