I have a friend who was one of the children waiting in line to see Santa in that movie. Actually, most Clevelanders have a friend who was in that movie. posted by starvingartist at 2:28 PM on January 7, 2002
Well, there it goes, my last shred of innocence has been destroyed. I watch that movie (Christmas Story) at least twice every year. Never again will I be able to look at it the same. Thanks. posted by insomnyuk at 2:28 PM on January 7, 2002
i only watch TV once every couple of months or so...but it just so happens that the last time i did, i watched some E! expose about his life in the porn industry. Mainly he played non-nekkid roles, but did have interesting birthday presents from various porn actresses. posted by th3ph17 at 2:30 PM on January 7, 2002
Worked as a manager for adult film actors. Quit because he didn't like the job.
Left adult film industry in the year 2000 to try and become a mainstream actor again.
Where are they now
(2001) Working at his father's business, Baseball Cards & Movie Collectables Etc. in Los Angeles.

Actually, I remember the kid best from the 1982 Richard Pryor movie The Toy, in which he played Eric ("Master") Bates.

They auctioned one of the leg lamps off at a production of "A Christmas Story" I attended back before X-mas. They are really, truly hideous close up too. Really bad. Ugly, just plain damn ugly. I lack the words to describe it's utter hideousness. posted by RevGreg at 4:17 PM on January 7, 2002
Tell me the line "You'll shoot your eye out" wasn't uttered in one of those movies. Please. posted by allpaws at 4:34 PM on January 7, 2002

sidenote-- his ex-girlfriend, adult film star "Anastasia Blue" is listed with the date of birth 1981. Her first adult film was made in 1991. Retired at the age of 19 with some 20 films. ??? I hope this is an error. posted by allpaws at 6:16 PM on January 7, 2002

Actually regarding Anastasia, I did some work and found the IMDB's adult counterpart IAFD: here. [Do I need to warn anyone about this?] It has Anastasia as her first film in 1999 which makes more sense then when she was 10... posted by geoff. at 8:56 PM on January 7, 2002
Anastasia Blue has moved into the bed linen industry. Possibly. posted by vbfg at 4:10 AM on January 8, 2002
Those earlier-than-1999 IMDB citations are for an actress named "Anastasia", which is also how Ms. Blue is sometimes credited. Presumably they are not actually the same person. posted by dhartung at 8:39 AM on January 8, 2002

The tongue-stuck-to-the-flagpole story gets a modern update:
CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Firefighters in Cape Coral, Fla., said that they retrieved a mans severed, semi-frozen penis from a freezer after receiving a call for assistance from a local hospital.
The hospital requested assistance last weekend, after the man transported himself to the hospital. Firefighters found the penis attached to the surface of the freezer, then poured warm water over it to release it.
Firefighters placed the appendage in a container and transported it to awaiting medical personnel.
The man's name and condition aren't available. It also has not been determined if doctors attempted re-attachment or whether it was successful. posted by mr_crash_davis at 12:48 PM on January 8, 2002
