For those not in the know, this is a response to the recent Iona Institute case against Irish state broadcaster RTE.

Mr Bollard bears no similarity to John Waters whatsoever of course.

GallonOfAlan's linked article is short and well worth reading.

"...or a woman marrying a dartboard?"

I know variations on this line have been done to death, but I've been laughing about this all morning.

For those who watch cult films but don't follow Irish journalism very closely, this John Waters is not the same as this John Waters.

The whole point of the law is that it’s not about giving people equal status because you like them. It’s about freeing people from subjection to the arbitrariness of other people’s benevolence.

So is this RTE's way of apologizing for capitulating and paying off a bunch of whiny bigots?

Brilliant! And so many lovely little details - the looming Julian Clary cutout, the Putin with his top off collage, the spot-on Westboro Baptist rainbow gradient on the protest signs...

In regards to the case GallonOfAllan linked to above, everyone should see this: Panti's Noble Call.

Interestingly we have also have homophobic rollback here in Germany currently where the conservative homophobe crowd is freaking out about education reforms.

Homosexuals have just as much a right to be miserably married as heterosexuals do. Why should they have all the fun of being single? If we have to marry the pregnant girlfriend, they should have to marry the person they made an honest man or woman out of.

My friends laughed when I took discrete math in college, but who's getting all the jokes now losers?

From tl;dr's link, today I learned that the German for "homosexual agenda" is "der Ideologie des Regenbogens", (if my two years of college German are still working right).
