Hitch a ride on a meteorite. New evidence that bacteria could survive a trip between planets.

Bacteria are strange creatures that can survive millions of years imbedded in rock or more than 2 years exposed on the surface of the moon.

With the amount of material transferred between planets, there's little doubt in my mind that life was able to spread successfully encased in a shield of rock. Whether it found a suitable home where it landed is another question.
