Portland Hotel Society (and of course the poor) take a kicking.

Mark Townsend and Liz Evens have been forced to resign from the Portland Hotel Society. They and the rest of the board were given the choice to step down or lose all funding for an organization they had build up for the last 21 years, which would have cast the lives of more than a thousand vulnerable people further into the margins.

Opinions in the media are mixed. Some feel that Mark Townsend wasn't nice enough in interviews and there are objections to how administrativemoney has been spent and what on.
PHS' most publicly successful and controversial project is, of course, Insite. This action by MLA Rich Coleman might have consequences for Insite's future exception status.
Caveat, I am friend of a PHS employee.
