Poor Prince Harry Drug rehab clinic it is. Also chips thumb playing football and puts foot through a glass door at party. Wonder if its all connected. PS Rehab for weed and alcohol only? Fishy.

It's no wonder that the Kids' Zone of the Official Web Site of the British Monarchy doesn't have a "fact file" on Harry! All the "younger brother" rates is a mention on Prince William's page.

Prince Charles in May 1999 to his godson Tom Parker Bowles (hmmm,Camilla's son) over his cocaine habits : "You've been a bloody fool. Pull yourself together." Same article :"There are reports that William has had a cigarette or two but there is no suggestion that the princes have been involved with drugs." No mention of Harry.

Harry reportedly admitted to a serious drink problem

Well his great-grandmother throws back seven Dry Martinis a day and she's 101. So good luck to the boy, long may he live and, if necessary, reign. Even though I find that admitting to a "serious" drinking problem may be motivated by a touch of sibling rivalry.

Hey, how else is he to know what his future subjects have to resort to, to get through the day?

Feh. Punishing him and plastering his face on the news for being a normal 17 year old. One more reason to be glad I'm not famous. I'd never put up with all the pressure.

Given the constant tabloid stories about junior Royals on coke over the past few years, I would have thought it would be compulsory for Harry to do drugs. In fact, perhaps they sent him to Betty Ford to *find* some fucking drugs.

But anyway, how desperately silly. If every teenager who'd smoked weed and drank to excess was sent to rehab, we'd have... a lot of kids in rehab.

From CNN story:

Clive Goodman, of the News of the World, told CNN: "These were were no usual teenage high spirits. This was a young lad drinking under age ... taking pot, which is illegal."

Excuse me? What kind of definition for "usual teenage high spirits" do you have over there? I'm no advocate for smoking anything (unless it's one of those medical marijuana deals), but testing one's drinking limits is definitely normal teenage behavior where I come from.

p.s. Nice job quoting journalists' reactions, CNN. Reminds me of sexy Paula Zahn's teary tributes to the brave journalists covering the WTC disaster.

I thought it was Gin & Tonics, useful for keeping the quinine levels up lest one should find themselves needing to visit the outer colonies with little notice.

In any case, I wonder how much of this is teenage acting out and how much is a kid seeking to fill a void left by having a famously dead mother. Hmm.
